COMMITTEES – HANWELL RURAL COMMUNITY

Below you will find a list of committees, members, and statuses. To see the mandate of each committee, please view the attached link Committee-Policy

Our volunteers are very important to us, for they are the voices of our community. Committees meet on a specific day every month or so, and have committed their time, energy and skills to their respective roles – they are vital to the success of these committees.

Please take a moment to peruse the information below, and if you would like to volunteer let us know, we would be happy to have you!

GOVERNANCE AND POLICIES COMMITTEE
Chair: Darren MacKenzie, Councillor
Vice-Chair: Tim Fox, Councillor
When: This committee meets when needed.
Members:  Terri Parker, CAO/Treasurer and Sherri Johnston, Clerk/Assistant Treasurer.
The Governance and Policies committee meets when necessary to discuss current by-laws and polices to see if they need updating as well developing new by-laws and policies if necessary.  Status: This committee is not open to volunteers.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
Chair: Dave Morrison, Mayor
Vice-Chair: Terri Parker, CAO/Treasurer
When: This committee meets when needed.
Members: Susan Jonah, Deputy Mayor; Holly Hyslop, Councillor; Tim Fox, Councillor; David Holt, Councillor; Chris Bringloe, Councillor; Lee Crouse, Councillor; Darren MacKenzie, Councillor; Candice Dekleva, Councillor; and Sherri Johnston, Clerk/Assistant Treasurer
The Finance Committee meets when necessary to discuss financial strategies for the Rural Community of Hanwell.  Status: This Committee is not open to volunteers.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND PARKS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Chair: Dave Morrison, Mayor

When: This committee meets when needed.
Members: Susan Jonah, Deputy Mayor; Holly Hyslop, Councillor; Tim Fox, Councillor; David Holt, Councillor; Chris Bringloe, Councillor; Lee Crouse, Councillor; Darren MacKenzie; Candice Dekleva, Councillor; Sherri Johnston, Clerk/Assistant Treasurer, and Taylor Bradley, Director of Recreation and Parks
The Infrastructure and Parks Management Committee meets when necessary to discuss land use planning and park development for the Rural Community of Hanwell.  Status: This Committee is not open to volunteers.

EMERGENCY MEASURES COMMITTEE
Chair: Terri Parker, CAO
Vice-Chair:
When: This committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Members: Terri L. Parker, CAO/Treasurer; Sherri Johnston, Clerk/Assistant Treasurer; Megan Keenan, Administrative Assistant; Councillor Chris Bringloe and members of the public.
The Emergency Measures Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The Committee and staff of Hanwell Rural Community work together to ensure the safety of our residents through our Emergency Plan, as well as emergency exercises throughout the year. Status: This Committee is open to volunteers.

RURAL PLAN REVIEW COMMITTEE
Chair: Susan Jonah, Deputy Mayor
Vice-Chair: Tim Fox, Councillor
When: This committee will meet as determined by the Capital Region Service Commission (CRSC).
Members: Members of council and volunteers
The Rural Plan Review Committee meets as required to review and provide recommendations to Council on Rural Plan By-Law revision requests as well as provide advice on the Rural Plan for the Rural Community of Hanwell.  Status: This Committee is open to volunteers.
