Our volunteers are very important to us, for they are the voices of our community. Committees meet on a specific day every month or so, and have committed their time, energy and skills to their respective roles – they are vital to the success of these committees.

Please take a moment to peruse the information below, and if you would like to volunteer let us know, we would be happy to have you!

GOVERNANCE AND POLICIES COMMITTEE

The Governance and Policies committee meets when necessary to discuss current by-laws and polices to see if they need updating as well developing new by-laws and policies if necessary.  Status: This committee is not open to volunteers.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

The Finance Committee meets when necessary to discuss financial strategies for the Rural Community of Hanwell.  Status: This Committee is not open to volunteers.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND PARKS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The Infrastructure and Parks Management Committee meets when necessary to discuss land use planning and park development for the Rural Community of Hanwell.  Status: This Committee is not open to volunteers.

EMERGENCY MEASURES COMMITTEE
Chair: Terri Parker, CAO

When: This committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Members: Nicolle Carlin, CAO; Terri L. Parker, Treasurer; Sherri Johnston, Clerk/Assistant Treasurer; Miriam Ropheka, Administrative Assistant; and members of the public.
The Emergency Measures Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The Committee and staff of Hanwell Rural Community work together to ensure the safety of our residents through our Emergency Plan, as well as emergency exercises throughout the year. Status: This Committee is open to volunteers.

Do you want to be an integral part of your community? Want to meet other like-minded folks? Why not volunteer? We currently have space in our Emergency Measures Committee.  Do you have an idea for a committee you would like to see and help form in Hanwell? Reach out and lets see what we can accomplish together. 

Hanwell is always looking for help in our recreation and leisure department for our social events .  Easter Eggstravaganza, Hanwell Sports, Hanwell Days, Spookfest to name just a few. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for these events please reach out to recreation@hanwell.nb.ca.
