November 10, 2022If you get a chance stop by our municipal office/Community Centre in Hanwell and see our Veterans Memorial monument, it is absolutely beautiful. The design is by Peter Powning, and the scarf has impressions of our local vets’ metals, coins, rings, knives, and the nose from a teddy bear that was made from a great grandfather’s uniform.
This monument will not only be a wonderful place to respect our vets at Hanwell’s first Remembrance Day service on Friday, November 11th, but also for teachers to bring their students over to teach them what a special piece this is.
